Based on our barrefigureSIGNATURE class, this is a complete body and mind workout in one! Founder Marysa, learnt her craft in New York and London before opening her studio in Ponsonby, Auckland.  

This targeted body-sculpting class fuses principles of ballet barre, Pilates, yoga and strength conditioning. Join Marysa for this addictive 30 minute workout and prepare to feel those legs shake, burn and tone!

About the trainer

Marysa Theiler

Marysa began dancing in Christchurch at six years of age and has more than 10 years of professional dancing experience. She graduated from the New Zealand School of Dance and continued to dance with the Royal New Zealand Ballet for seven years. She continued her professional dance career in Australia and then New York.

She gained her Pilates Mat Certification in NYC and taught at various gyms and studios around Manhattan. It was during this time she experienced barre for the first time. She loved the similarities to dancing, such as the precision, poise and concentration required. And she was hooked!

Moving to London in 2012, Marysa joined the team at Barrecore, the first barre studio in London. Returning home to New Zealand Marysa launched Barrefigure in 2014 and she has combined her experience of professional ballet dancing and teaching in New York City and London to create her own bespoke style of barre classes. Marysa become a mother to Alexa in December 2016 and Thomas in June 2018 and credits barre helping her to have a healthy pregnancy and labour and getting back into shape soon after.
